......to the 4th Edition of WOW's Newsletter. Inside the newsletter you will find out about what WOW has been doing over the last few months, as well as important updates on policy and research developments, events and networking opportunities.
We are delighted to announce that WOW has successfully secured funds from Wolverhampton Network Consortium to deliver six strands of work under the title ‘Women's Communities of Interest'. The strands comprise of: Website development, Newsletters, Information Communication Technology, International Women's Week 2008, the review of the recommendation of the All Saints Safety Project, ongoing consultation on policy and strategy developments, including the Gender Equality Scheme of Wolverhampton City Council, and the enhancement of women's skills and knowledge.
All six strands have now been allocated to four organisations who are responsible for achieving the anticipated outcomes: The Haven Wolverhampton (Strand One, Two and Three), Parvinder Chana and The Arena Theatre (Strand Four), Tara Consultancy (Strand Five) and Teleresources (Strand Six). All organisations are pressing ahead with developments in their particular strands and you will find an update of their activities inside the newsletter. We are positive that this project will further strengthen WOW and women's voices in Wolverhampton.
Inside the newsletter you will also be able to find out about WOW's involvement in Wolverhampton City Council's Gender Equality Scheme and International Women's Week 2007.
We hope that you enjoy reading this latest edition of WOW's newsletter. I am sure that you will agree that this is an exiting time for WOW and for women in Wolverhampton. May I take this opportunity to welcome new members and to ask you all to invite friends, colleagues, and relatives to join us in making sure that women's voices in Wolverhampton are not only heard but acted upon.
