As part of the commissioned work through WOW, consultation has begun with women, women’s groups and organisations from across Wolverhampton in the preparation for the March 2008 event. WOW has been involved in supporting and coordinating plans for International Women’s Week for several years, but over the past two years has been able to fund the events. This year’s event will again help to promote the activities of women’s groups and organisations across Wolverhampton, but will also look at raising awareness of key issues that affect women and their families. There are planned activities to engage with women from different backgrounds and we are asking all women’s groups and organisations to encourage women to attend International Women’s Week meetings over the next few months. Wolverhampton City Council will be supporting International Women’s Week by contributing a programme of events.
