Promoting the Gender Equality Duty within Wolverhampton.

Project: Gender Duty Project

Description

Promoting the Gender Equality Duty within Wolverhampton.

The Project will begin with a workshop on 20th May to bring partners up to speed on what exactly is entailed in the GED. This will be from 10-12 am and will involve about 10-12 people. Partners can use the learning to disseminate information to their own Network Groups and do some work on this prior to the Event eg. Drama or music from CYP.

The main event will be called ‘Women's Lives in Wolverhampton'.

Follow up from the event will lead to a research document which draws on Equality Schemes to map progress so far and includes the Action Plan agreed at the Conference. There has also been discussion about a DVD being prepared.

A further, smaller follow up event can consider the Action Plan and how to progress this. Everyone attending the Conference would receive a copy of the report.

CYP and Older People saw the Conference leading to later intergenerational work on the lives of women.

Named Partners: This is a cross cutting project with Children and Young People, BME, Older People and Disability Networks
